On the first day of class when I met my college art professor, he took one look at the roster and told me, “Never change your name, Cat Coquillette.” I’ve heeded his advice, but did clip my surname for the sake of my brand: CatCoq

I’m a location-independent designer and illustrator currently living in Chiang Mai, Thailand, although Kansas City is the place I'll always call home. I’ve spent the majority of my career as a graphic designer, with my passion for illustration blooming into a large part of my brand as well. I illustrate in a variety of mediums, including digital, watercolor, ink and gouache. My artwork typically incorporates bright pops of color, typography, clean linework and a broad range of motifs. (Current obsessions: animal skulls, fuzzy critters and blooming foliage.)

As an experienced brand designer, I also specialize in creating custom brand identities. I’ve tackled everything from websites and infographics to logos and packaging. I’ve worked with a wide range of wonderful clients: beauty, fashion, retail, consumer packaging and restaurants.
