✨ Fun Ways to Use These Brushes ✨
1) Stamp a Pattern
Simple patterns (also known as blender patterns or filler patterns) are often overlooked, but they’re so important to have in your portfolio. I just started adding patterns like this to my portfolio, and it almost instantly paid off. Here’s an example — I have tons of complex mushroom illustrations and patterns in my portfolio, but I thought I should try creating a simple pattern with this on-trend motif. Almost immediately after I added the simple mushroom pattern, it got picked up for licensing! It just goes to show that there is a market for every type of design!

Try using these brushes to quickly stamp a simple blender pattern. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you can whip up a high-quality design for your portfolio!
2) Quickly add embellishments to your pieces
One way that I create a cohesive style within my collections and my portfolio in general is to use little embellishments in my artwork. You’ll often find my pieces filled with accenting stars, dots, x’s, and more.
Adding some “sparkle” to a piece at the very end of your illustration process can help tie everything together and take your final piece to the next level.
Bonus — if you use these stamp brushes as embellishments in your more complex illustrations, you can easily take some of those elements and turn them into coordinating patterns.
3) Use the brushes as a foundation for larger illustrations
There are quite a few brushes in this set that could be a great starting point for a more complex illustration.
Take the Sun Stamp, for example. If you increase the size of the brush and stamp it on your canvas, you have a pre-made base for your own unique retro sun illustration.
Retro iconography is currently trending, and a good chunk of my licensed artwork for the past few years has followed this retro trend.
These brushes will give you a great base to inspire on-trend illustrations of your own!
