Leading a Watercolor Workshop During Kansas City Design Week

When the organizers of KC Design Week reached out to see if I was interested in hosting a watercolor workshop during Kansas City’s largest creative week of the year, my response was, “I don’t think designers and architects are really interested in watercolor.”

I agreed to host the workshop, but didn’t have high expectations for turnout. When the event sold out in 37 minutes, I realized I was entirely wrong.

The event was a smashing success– I was completely blown away by the talent in the room. Some attendees hadn't painted with watercolors since they were kids, but the artwork they created was absolutely stunning.

The audience was an eclectic blend of designers, architects, project managers, advertising/design agency professionals, and more.

It was a perfect start to Tuesday morning: watercolors, a good playlist, pastries, and mingling with fellow KC creatives.

Thank you, KC Design Week for inviting me to participate!
